Print from the Command Line

Top  Previous  Next

Printing from the command line opens Print Designer GOLD with the main window invisible, prints then closes (unless otherwise specified, see below).

The syntax for command line printing is as follows:

program.exe /p;q=qty;s=start;x=0;p=printername designfilename

where

qty is the total number or elements to print.

start is the starting position on the first page.

If x=0 Print Designer GOLD remains open after printing.

printername is the name of the printer to print to.

designfilename is the design file to print.

Example:

pdg.exe /p:q=10;s=1;x=1;p=HP3740 c:\designs\design1.pdg

note Notes:

If q is not specified then the default quantity is used (one page or all records in any linked database).
If s is not specified then printing starts at the first element on the page.
If x is not specified then Print Designer GOLD closes open after printing.
If p is not specified the default printer is used.

tip Tips:

If the designfilename parameter contains spaces you may need to enclose it in double quotes.  For example, "c:\my designs\design1.pdg"
