Templates are used as a starting point when a new entry is created of when an entry is opened. There are two types of templates.
1. New Entry Templates 2. Add-On Templates
A New Entry Template is used when a new dated entry is created (that is, you are writing into it for the first time). You can define one or more New Entry Templates. If you define only one (Default) it is used with all new dated entries. If you define more than one you can choose to be prompted for the one to use each time a new dated entry is created.
An Add-On Template is used when an existing dated entry is opened. You can define a Top and Bottom Add-On Template that is added to the top and bottom of the entry.
If templates are not enabled or if they are enabled and no templates exist, all new entries are created with the defaults specified on the New Entry Defaults tab in the Options dialog box.
